Hand &Cloth

Visual identity design for the clothing brand Hand &Cloth. Inspired by the letter “y” — a shape that echoes traditional Chinese garment collars and represents the founder’s initials — the design reinterprets it through the rhythm of Chinese brushstrokes. Merging the serif elegance of Song with simplified, modern curves, it reflects Hand &Cloth’s contemporary character grounded in Eastern aesthetics.

The letter “y” is shaped with the gesture of a Chinese brushstroke — a single dot and a sweeping flick. It retains the serif structure of Song while simplifying its strokes, blending the calligraphic rhythm of Chinese writing with the clean, flowing curves of modern design.
